I've come to the conclusion that my mojo has simply moved north.
Neither of us wants to knit with cotton. Or linen. Or make sleeveless anything. I've tried to be practical and knit appropriate things for my climate...and I'm not a happy camper knitter. Of course, being practical and logical are not my strong suits....so I've decided to follow my mojo instead of trying to lure him home.
The two of us are much happier.
We're starting out slowly.
This was fun (it actually sort of matches a few things I own)....so we did another...
which pretty much doesn't match anything I own other than the mitered square blanket from which I robbed the yarn. I don't care.
- fair isle
- wool
- quick
- portable
- attention to detail
What's not to love? Kate Davies' WWWWW #1 headband. Lined. Lovely I-cord edges. Extra warm.
Next up?
I think I'm going to download Kate's Carbeth. DK yarn...held double. A sweater so heavy, I'll never wear it here.
Can't wait to cast on!
Iceland here you come!!! I need to find an easy hat pattern to go with the strangely colored winter coat that I am taking. If I ever have time to perch and do it ; )

Well I'd say your mojo is back just fine if you're graduating from a headband to a Carbeth. Welcome back to the needles, my dear.

I'm so glad you are working on your knitting mojo...love the headbands! I have missed seeing all your knitting projects but at times we all need a little breaks. Keep on, keep on knitting!

I say follow that mojo wherever it leads. North is just fine. Sounds like maybe you will be traveling north and if not someone always needs to be kept warm. In the meantime - just follow you knitting heart.

I thought about Carbeth. It is a wonderful pattern. But I get hot too easily, and it does look warm!

So glad your happy with your needles. I just blocked my Carbeth cardigan tonight and cast on the pullover version for my daughter. It's heavy but I'm so pleased. It does not disappoint. I cannot wait to see yours

I’ve lusted after this since it came out. I’m using some stash yarn and have my fingers crossed I don’t run out! Eep!

Your fairisle knitting is beautiful and I agree with not wanting to knit for summer. Although I am knitting for summer I have one top on the needles.

they are both so nice. I too like the i-cord edges on them. Super.
