Hermione's Everyday Socks. I was pretty sure I was the last sock knitting knitter to make a pair of these, but from the comments, I see there are a few of you who also have put these off. Why??!!? This is one great pattern....just a few purls thrown in to keep the socks from pooling badly---or, at the very least, to give pooled areas a bit of interest and texture. It has a modified eye of partridge heel...again, simple, but a wee bit of additional interest. A well written pattern. And it's free. I used size 1 needles on the leg of the sock, then went down to a 0 for the heel and gusset and foot. These are probably the best fitting socks I've ever made (and I've made a whole lot of socks!!!!) My vanilla sock pattern has found some competition. This won't be the last pair I knit.
Another featherweight jumped on the needles...just because it's a pretty straight-forward knit and I have a couple books I want to dive into...and this yarn has been in the stash too long. (I wonder why.....it's actually a bit more teal than the color in the photo!)
And soon to be on the needles...No show socks by La Maison Rililie.
Let the holiday knitting begin!!!
The knitting pace is picking up. Fall must be in the air!
I just knit this pattern for the first time too. Fun stuff.

Beautiful knits, Steph! I definitely feel fall in the air! Even knowing we will have lots more HOT days. LOL! It's coming! Loving that teal! blessings ~ tanna

I've had this pattern for socks in my queue. But since I'm relatively new to sock knitting, am I forgiven for not having made these yet? :-) Your look lovely. Since moving some things, and that includes all knitting paraphernalia, is still packed away in boxes. We are waiting for the closets to be customized and for dressers, and even more to arrive (on order). Once the closet organizers are finished, I can finally unpack all the boxes marked "office" -- in one of those boxes are my knitting things. sigh.

I'm also a fan of the Hermione's every day socks, I've only made one pair so far but I'm sure there will be more in my future. It's such a simple pattern but still somehow much more interesting than vanilla socks.

you can never have too many featherweights, citrons, or basic cardigans....just saying :)

What yarn are you using for the featherweight? It's beautiful!

I'm in love with that colorway every time I see it. You described the Hermione pattern really well. And for an impatient person like me, it actually isn't overwhelming, it's like you said, "just enough". They turn out such a lovely pair.
However it is the featherweight cardigan that I've been putting on hold. I dunno. I don't really have a good excuse. This weekend I tried on a store version to go with a few of my summer dresses. It fit OK. Then somewhere I felt a stirring and said, I should really just knit a featherweight ... I'm backlogged right now, but I'll probably take the plunge next spring.

ellen, it's a plunge you must take. yes, it's fingering wt (not a problem for me because I love lace and fingerling) but it is a very very simple rhythmic piece of knitting. this is my third. !!!!!
