What was I thinking when I ordered the Kauni for the mitered cross blanket a few years ago? Maybe I had planned to double it? SHEESSH. Who knows? Blanket. Check. Pine bough cowl (one of the favorite things I've ever knit). Check. And now...a simple linen stitch cowl...
not as thick and heavy as the Pine Bough, which is knit as a tube...double thickness, then since it's fair isle stranding...makes it a quadruple-thickness, wooly-wool cowl around the neck. Warm. Actually----WARM! (just what we need this year....we're looking at another week with temps over 70 degrees...and they deny global warming...right.)
The linen stitch cowl is a nice weight. But, enough is enough with the Kauni yarn for a while.
although Freddy is lobbying for a doggy bed, I think.
And then, there is the linen stitch...
I only finished up this cowl because it was started, it was going to be a quick 'tick' in the FO column, and because I was 'in the groove'...
Peppered stripe wrap is finally finished...
all 8+ feet of it...all linen stitch, (which I think equates to roughly 6.5 miles of stockinette or 4.75 miles of garter stitch).
I'm done with linen stitch (for a while). I'm done with Kauni (for a while).
Now what? I really don't know. 70 degree weather leaves me rather uninspired. What's on YOUR needles? I'm in a rather 'magpie' mood...looking for that next shiny thing. Tempt me. Please.
Until then....back to the mystery socks. You can't see them. They are a mystery, right?
Everything looks gorgeous! That 8' wrap is amazing! I can't offer any suggestions as I just keep knitting socks (though I did pick up a shawl I started in September...maybe I can finish that???).

On my needles is a sliver grey bolero in cotton yarn for a special event at the end of May. A lot of stockinette stitches to go though. Have lots of other things lined up plus a knitting request from hubby, but just trying to focus. Love all your knitting and the linen stitch looks great.

I have always wanted to try linen stitch, but don't have the nerve, frankly. But I think the resulting pieces always look so nice ...
I'm working on socks. Almost finished with #1. I like them, but want to have another project going for variety. So I'm afraid I'm not help at all!

I love how the Peppered stripe wrap turned out! Beautiful and such lovely colours too. And, of course, there's always dear Freddie.

That is a lot of Kauni. Beautiful as the yarn is, I can see why you are ready for a change.
I love linen stitch, but for me it is a very slow stitch. The finished product, though, makes up for all those hours!

But the Kauni yarn is so colorful and fun .... no wonder you ordered so much! It made some gorgeous projects too! That linen stitch wrap is beyond amazing. Super human endurance knitting. I've been eyeing some lighter weight cardigan patterns for Spring since it reached 70 here this past week also.

I can't seem to memorize the linen stitch, which is making me feel like a real dork. So progress is slow. And the yarn, splitty. So now I've started a lopi sweater for me, which it still isn't quite warm enough to wear outside on its own, but will be by April. And so I'm no inspiration at all. What you need to do is vacation somewhere COLD!

Hats off to you for knitting the linen stitch. I love the way it looks but when I knit it, I find it so tedious and get tired of fixing mistakes. It is crazy warm here for February. Chugging along on the Traveling Sweater.

That wrap is just awesome! I love the stitch and the colour and the pepperedness and well just everything.

Dog bed with the Kauni? Not a bad idea! ;)
As always, my needles are filled with socks in progress.

It feels like "shawl weather" has arrived! Most definitely shawl weather!

LOL! No moderation for us. More is always better... until it isn't. You did wonderful projects with the Kauni!! And, you deserve an award for perseverance with the linen stitch. So beautiful after all the work, Steph! The weather has had me drawn to the yard! The smell of spring is in the air, though I know we will have more cold. So, that said, I have no knitspiration for you. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with! blessings ~ tanna

Oh Steph, you are my knitting hero. That is a whole lot of linen stitch! I would have failed miserably. Good thing you persevered as it's absolutely stunning.
Socks are always a backup for me. :)

Linen stitch gave me fits until I tried the Manic Panic cowl on Rav - all in the round, super fun and gorgeous. Do not cast on less than 200 sts or you will bee sorry...I might have a photo as sierraspinknit.
