Hi.
Freddy here.
Me and Mommy have been having terrible issues with our computer. No. Wait. We LOVE our computer. Our issues have been with our service. We hate our internet service. I'm sure you understand. I get to write today because I have infinitely more patience than my mom has. (She just knit 4-5 rounds--I lost count--on some pretty pink mitts before that picture loaded. I just sat and wait....munching on my latest find in the trash. I can do that all day long.
Plus, it's Monday and it's..... MY!DAY!AND!I!WANT!TO!WISH!EVERYONE!HAPPY!NEW!YEAR!!!
I've had a very busy start to the new year. mainly because I must follow my mom everywhere she goes. E-V-E-R-y-W-h-E-R-e! So far, we've cleaned out the refrig---I!LOVED!THAT!I!WAS!A!HUGE!HELPER!!
We put away all the Christmas decorations and I only broke 3 or 4 things. I did better this year putting UP the decorations. I only broke one ornament. Then we got out the snowmen stuff, but they haven't done much to get any snow on the ground, which is just as well, since snow means I have to put on my sweater and I!HATE!MY!SWEATER!!! (even though Mommy knit it in fair isle and she thinks I look very handsome).
Why am I on my side? I hate this picture anyway, (it's from last year) so I'm not going to try to fix it. stupid sweater...stupid, stupid, stupid.
Then, we started filling a big bin full of stuff to disappear. I'm rather fascinated with that bin...I keep trying to check and make sure no food accidentally got thrown in it, but I haven't had much luck breaking in. But, if mom thinks she's making a dent in 'minimalizing' her life, she's going to need more than just that bin....just saying.
THEN....we got into all the yarn stuff. Bags and bags of stuff and I!LOVE!BAGS!I!THINK!I!MUST!BE!PART!KITTYCAT!!! While Mom sorted, I rummaged and together we made a big pile of knitting that didn't get done last year. Every year we do this. You would think eventually we would finish this job. Mom stinks at finishing. (I wish she wouldn't have finished that !#@)#*& sweater. Just my luck. Sorry. I'm sort of obsessing over that....it's hanging on the coat rack and I can see it every day.)
From that big pile, we selectively chose:
these (they got stuffed in the cupboard when she discovered the dye wasn't set well and her hands turned pink...I guess she doesn't care about pink fingers now, but shame on you Sturbridge Village yarn people)....
and
then we got out these pixel rising socks which was one of my favorite projects because I ran off with the black yarn and hid it and we just found it again under the sofa. (I, of course, knew it was there...just checking on her cleaning skills, which, if you must know, need some 2017 work!)
And finally,
who knows why this got stuffed in time-out?
We already finished a pair of mitts, Daddy's sweater, and some socks that were carry-overs from 2016, so if she can actually get through this new pile---I'm sure we'll both be appropriately bored and ready to move on to other things. Plus...if you noticed...there are a scant TWO ballbands for all these things, and that will NOT keep me happy for long.
Make that ONE ball band.
Happy New Year Freddy! Sounds like you and your mom have been busy. I hope this year keeps everyone at your house happy and healthy. :-)

Freddy, it looks as if you have some gorgeous knitting there. Cleaning might be overrated or maybe I should try it since I've been coasting since the holidays.

Those pixel rising socks are amazing! And Freddy's sweater leaves me speechless. I will wear it if he can't appreciate his good fortune!

LOL! Oh, Freddy! Your sweater is most attractive on you. ;) You two have been very, very busy. I love those socks. I need to be going through my stash and figuring out a plan to use a big chunk of it this year! I hope to get on a plan to knit one thing from stash and then I can have one thing new. Hope to. Don't work too hard, dear Freddy! blessings ~ tanna

I had my project sort and prepare at the end of 2016, so have a long list of things to make and selected 6 to do by the end of March. With the Edinburgh Yarn Festival in mid March I need to clear some room to have a lovely stash shop while I'm there!!
Happy new year to you dear Freddy dog.

Well Freddy you sound as if you've been a really big help. Well done you. For a treat I think a sweater in that lovely colour way blue and cream would really suit you. Ask mum nicely and she might do it for you.

How on earth does he find the ballband around all that fluff on his toes?!?
And does a soak in vinegar set the colour in yarn? Or is there No Hope at this point?
