I've been in one of those rearranging, purging, cleaning, simplifying kinds of moods. I've been doing pretty good until I got in the knitting room. Here rests the bowl with sock yarn leftovers. I think there is another sock blanket started in there someplace, but honestly---who needs four of them? So, while trying to decide if this bowl was going to get put up, tossed out, culled, or ignored, I grabbed some needles.
Does it look more like a pineapple now? I've wanted to make this little thing for years. I have no idea why. Well, yes I do. It's stinkin' cute. It's also totally useless. It's just the kind of thing I'm actually purging from my house and my life. (Just not right now.)
20 minutes wasn't long enough to decide what to do with the rest of the yarn.
Maybe I'll make a hat.
Did it use any yarn at all??? ???????!!!!!
Why is it, I can get rid of two dozen glasses, a linen closet full of sheets and towels, lamps, bags of clothes......
and I can't let loose of a partial skein of yarn--or two or ten?
I might need it.!!!!!
If you decide to get rid of it, don't just put it in the trash. It could join my stash. Of course, I may never use it either. . .

I know exactly is how you feel. I have SO many balls of leftover yarn and I can't get rid of any of them, either!

I feel your pain, but mostly with my fabric. I sew and sew scrap quilts and I know I end up with more fabric after the quilt is done. How does that happen? It's one of those God questions when I meet Him in Glory, kinda like how does the dryer eat so many socks? Good luck organizing....hat looks great!

Maybe some pairs of scrappy socks? Or ten.....

That's how it always goes with leftovers, isn't it? You either can't use them up, or you find the perfect project and run out and need to buy more yarn, which leads to more leftovers, which leads right back to the search for the perfect project...

I would go for another sock blanket and donate it.

Last year I donated two huge bags with left overs and the yarn I know I will never use to a school. They were ecstatic! Schools always need something like that for craft projects or for some fun decorating!

There is always a scrappy something to be made. You must keep it all!

You never know when you might need a whole bowl of sock yarn remnants! Perhaps you'll find more adorable miniature fruit to make with it ;)

I am in the same camp as you - and yes, I might need it!

You definitely might need it someday! We never have wrapping ribbon in my house, so whenever we need to wrap a gift and add a tie or bow, we dive into my stash of remnants to find the perfect yarn!
