Two boy sweaters are finished...hubby's and Freddy's. Both have worn their sweaters, and while hubby is loving his,
Fred tolerated his. His wish has come true and we've had a winter warm-up; the temps are back in the 50s, so he's ditched his sweater.
While I've been trying to figure out which partially knit sweater will get some attention next, another clue arrived for the mystery shawl. It's had my undivided attention.
I'm pretty excited to see this one near the finish line. (one more clue the end of the week---not THAT close yet!) I've been a lace-knitting, fingering wt knitting knitter for so long, it's hard for me to believe that the aran wt shawl I finished a few weeks ago has been a constant companion. I'm ready to add another to my 'wardrobe'! What's happening to me???
A sweater knitting, aran/worsted wt yarn knitter? I hardly recognize myself.
I've been listening to The Truth According to Us, a depression-era story about a WPA writer sent to West Virginia to write the history of a little no-account town. Small town secrets and mysteries abound....including the one the 'author' brings with her---that she is the daughter of a US Senator. By the author of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society....I'm enjoying it a lot.
joining Ginny for yarnalong.
sounds like a good book! fun and funny (dog, cute!, those ears!) about the sweaters! and shawls are lovely to wear and have, a blessing!

Oh my gosh, Freddie's sweater is just fantastic. Look at his leg hair poof out under the sleeves! I'm sure he's happy for the warm weather, but at least now you have a sweater at the ready when temperatures dip again :)

Aaahw, Freddy looks so adorable in his sweater, I love the way his fur pokes out of the sleeves :D

I know!!! You are a stranger to me, I too have dabbled in worsted these days with my many hats but I've been yearning for laceweight knitting. First though I've got to start some baby knitting for my dog groomer mommy to be.

I enjoyed that book so much and hope to see a lot more from this author.
Aran weight love? Times, they are a changin'!

I have to say - much to Freddie's dismay I'm sure - that he looks pretty cute in the sweater!

Can't wait to see the finished shawl. Isn't the speed of large yarn awesome?
I loved "Guernsey," so I'm glad to hear the author's new book is good. That might be my next Kindle purchase!

I am so curious to see the finished shawl! I used to be suspicious of mystery patterns - I like to see what I'll get before I start making it - but watching how fun it is to discover the pattern step by step made me reconsider!

Awww - look at Freddy! He does look handsome. I bet the hubby will look handsome too in his new woolens. Can't wait to see your shawl!

I love that colourful shawl! You reassure Freddy that he looks adorable, although I suppose that's not what he cares about ;)

Too cute! Cutest pup sweater EVER. Time for some well-earned selfish knitting indeed!

Freddy is way cute in his sweater :-)
Mystery patterns sound very intriguing....
Must try one!

Oh, my goodness...you are making me want to knit a dog sweater! SO cute! (whether he likes it or not!)

I love Freddy's sweater, I don't care how he feels about it. Just when you think he couldn't get any cuter, ha! I think this Truth According to Us book might be up my alley, I'm scribbling down the title in my notebook. Thanks for sharing!

The dog sweater is amazing! Freddy looks so handsome in it.

Just put your book on hold at my local library...thanks for sharing!

That's too funny- my kids didn't tolerate their sweaters either in their teens- they can relate to Freddy- but he is so dapper. Really loving your worsted sweater- if you think of it will you upload more images down the pike- I would like to see more of it :)

Freddy looks just adorable!!!!

Aran + Needles= FAST! I find it a nice break once in while, but do tend toward fingering most of the time now. Your book sound fantastic and off I go to purchase it. I adored the Guernsey book. OH, and Freddie? He is adorable. <3

I've just had a proper catch up here, and am feeling a tad relieved on Freddie's behalf. The whippets need coats in cold weather as they're a skinny, single coated breed, but that doesn't mean they like coats and they certainly don't like knits, so do tell Freddie he's not the only one.
I'm rather taken with your stripey shawl :)

What an adorable dog, and the sweater looks great on him!!! I use to have a Cocker, she was a pure joy. Stay warm :)

Freddy looks so grumpily adorable in his sweater! What a cutie pie! I have always loved knitting with worsted/Aran weight because it's so speedy. (Although all of those pretty hand-dyed fingering weight yarns are irresistible too!)
