I've had this little piece of embroidery for years, and for most of those years, it's been hanging out in the drawer. Oh, it got a little love now and again, but always got stuffed back in time-out before it was finished.
Yesterday, it saw the light of day again. And I finished it. It's 'finished' as any piece of embroidery can be because, let's face it...you can continue to stitch and stitch and stitch until every tiny space is filled. So, I guess I just decided it was 'done-enough'.
This morning it became a pillow.
and was immediately adopted.
I used an old (old old old old old old feather pillow in a ticking cover) that probably has a 100 years of smells only a dog can smell. (for an old pillow, to me, it smells just fine)
Someone is in love.

And now...the Facebook thing. I'm hardly ever on that format/platform/whatever you call it. Somehow, though, my blog is. It appears there rather magically, but I think I've finally figured out how to remove it. ( With Facebook being mostly a picture and a few words space...I don't think it's a very good place for my blog that sometimes gets wordy and sometimes is overrun with photos.) I have been rather surprised to discover, though, that some people actually read the blog there. ???? really??? If you happen to be one of them and would like to continue following Freddy and me (since he's sort of taken over the blog lately), on the sidebar is a button to click to follow me on Bloglovin'---an easy way to follow that will bring our knitting adventures to your email box whenever we post.
We're also on Instagram @woolythyme1, a format that I'm loving increasingly more and more. (In fact, I'm there toooo much...and am toooo distracted by it!!! I thought I hit 'publish' on this post days ago and haven't been back since!! eeep....is that indicative of what the future might hold??? It seems more and more of my blog friends have switched to Instagram. Any opinions???)
Stephanie, I don't knit anymore (never did very much) but I love your blog. Perhaps it's because I know many of the 'characters' on your blog; perhaps it's because your writing style is so engaging. Your blog feed pops up in my Facebook post and reminds me to click on over and see what you have been doing lately. I would hate to miss that Facebook feed. Just saying........

Please don't go! I love reading your blog about your travels, knitting and especially Freddy!

I love reading your blogs -don't leave Facebook please !!

Oh that pillow is beautiful. Freddy obviously has the best taste. :)
I love seeing Instagram pics and sometimes can lose many hours staring and being inspired by all the beautiful images, but my personal preference has always been blog posts. I think blogging has a way of sharing lovely stories and happenings that Instagram isn't able to.

I almost always go to your blog from Facebook. That's where I see it first. Your blog comes up on my Bloglovin list, too, but I go weeks without reading it and then it's so overwhelmingly full that I just mark all read. So I would rather see you stay with Facebook, but I totally understand wanting to leave!

I don't read blogs through FB unless someone else links to one that I don't subscribe to. I use Feedly to follow my blogs. These days, I prefer Instagram, too, even to blogging. I may just move to micro-blogging that way!

I have your site on my laptop under "favorites," as I do all the blogs I like to follow. I don't do facebook and don't do instagram. Love your site, so just keep us posted how it turns out.

I never could understand the draw toward IG, but now that I'm there I totally get it. My blog has taken a serious hit, but I'm not ready to say goodbye yet and I hope you don't either. :)
PS- we need to decide on what to do for our embroidery along!

Loving the pillow- so pretty! I too was obsessed with IG...but it fizzles, it's not like blogging, I agree with Andi, you don't get the words, which make blogging so meaningful to me. I hope you don't leave this wonderful little spot you've created, I have always loved visiting and reading what you're up too.

Please don't go - I will miss keeping up with you and Freddy on Facebook 😩

Please don't on the instagram only front. Seems a bit of a stunted format for a verbalist. Pillow lovely, Freddie more so, natch.

I do love Instagram except that it is blocked at work so no checking during the day for me. But I love blogs too.

If you all do an embroider along I want to play!

Beautiful addition to your embroidered pillow collection. It's sweet of Freddy to break it in & make it comfy for you :) I find Instagram totally addicting but am finding a renewed energy for writing on my blog at least once a week now. Both are fun vehicles for creative expression but in different ways. I hope that you keep on doing both! Your blog has always been a beautiful and inspiring place to visit.

I totally agree with you about Facebook. I am still there because some of my friends and family are.... BUT .... I love Instagram and I am now following you .... follow me back and I also invite anyone else who wants to Here's me @zazanona

Don't do Facebook at all. IG is ok but I really enjoy the blog format! Keep it please. Freddy is adorable and lovely pillow!

I love instagram but find the long 'posts' a bit annoying. I prefer the photo to say more than the words. I would hate to lose your blog as I love reading it, the wordier the better, and love your photos! I look every day even if you don't post every day.

I, personally, don't like Instagram because I have a small I-phone screen and cannot see the details in the photos posted. (Maybe I am not "doing it" correctly, as I am not as young as most computer savvy folks! LOL).

Funny you should bring this up....I just read on a blog recently (for the life of me can' remember where though)a post about this very issue. That writer's point of view was that they felt more people were returning to blogging! I am on facebook, but my blog does not get published there. I just didn't want everyone I know there to read my blog. But I keep in touch with friends I see infrequently because of working now and it is how I see pictures of my Grands--although their Mama has a blog too. Instagram is okay, but even with my fancy new phone, nothing can compare to the lovely large pictures featured on a blog--and reading anything of length --the story with the picture--is just not that appealing to me on my phone. I do love Instagram but just for quick little dips into the lives of those I follow. Also, commenting on Instagram is very tedious in my opinion. I will be sad to see you leave blogging too.

Oops! I forgot to mention that with Instagram I have not figured out how to link to anything on the web and I have found wonderful people and projects and books due to links people have posted on their blog. I feel blogging promotes a sense of community that IG hasn't --at least not for me.
By the way... Freddy is adorable. The pillow? Gorgeous!

I enjoy your Instagram and blog posts but I have let go with the Facebook of my own account and formally disabled it. It brought the crazy and it was just ... too much. Freddy is just a cutie. Always a good photo.
