Fresh off the needles....FINALLY. I tried them on and they are perfect. (Do you block socks? Once on your feet, they certainly look blocked, so I rarely do.)
2015 is creeping to an end, and a 2015 resolution was to get UFOs and WIPs in order. (oops.) But---why did this project linger? I zipped through the first sock; it was a test knit for Brandy and I knew she wanted more eyes to look over the instructions. The pattern was written perfectly, I loved the resulting sock (although I didn't much like doing a toe-up start, and the short-row heel is not my usual one--simply an 'old dog' issue on my part), and there is no texture I love doing more than a leaf motif.
Madelintosh sock yarn. Heavenly. I absolutely have no excuse for the 6-month completion time. And now that I did the toe-up for a second time...you know, it's not that bad. And that heel? Fits nicer than my usual flap heel. The detailing on this pattern really was quite lovely. If you are looking for a nice January sock knit---I can highly recommend this pattern.
In keeping with the UFO clean-up, I moved on to this...
and did this...
I'm on a roll now!!
Beautiful socks!! I alos like your method of dealing with UFO's - can't wait to see what it morphs into....

I love the color and pattern combination for those socks. Madelinetosh sock -- you can't go wrong.
I will admit that I wrinkled my nose when you said, "toe-up" socks, because I've yet to try it and as we all know, new things take effort, patience and thought. I think those are spring time activities, ha!

so glad to hear that i'm not the only one who will avoid 'effort, patience, and thought!' !!! :)

Gorgeous socks! Looks like both of us are getting over our aversion towards toe-up socks.

So, will you be starting the new year with an empty basket? ;)

There is something irresistible about a leaf pattern. I have one toe-up sock done, but I can't seem to get through the second. The gusset increases are what keep messing me up. I just keep knitting cuff-down socks with a heel flap. Habit is powerful!

Oh, they turned out fab! I had to laugh at your reply when someone asked if your basket would be empty ... teehee, mine either! But it sure feels good to burn through a bunch of stuff!

A million hearts for those socks. That green is pretty awesome paired with the leaf lace pattern.
