It's done.
And it's definitely something to sing about!
Some of the blooms on two of my new tallardias sort of match. (Use your imagination, OK?) Some friends and I visited this grower/distributor today; I bought 4. He had over 300 varieties. Is that GREAT restraint, or what?

Now. Back to the regularly scheduled embroidery program.
Oh it's done and it's even prettier than I thought it would be...just beautiful! Love that color!

What is the care of a tallardia?
Posted by: Ann Denton | 07/10/2015 at 03:45 PM
a tallardia is an 'air' plant, but that just means it lives without dirt; it still needs to be watered and fertilized regularly. It needs bright, indirect light; thrives outside in our hot, humid summers.

The Banana Leaf scarf is gorgeous (although I would have been SO tempted to knit it in yellow!).
As always I love your embroidery and can't wait to see where you're going with this one!

Gorgeous, Steph. Your work ALWAYS is!! Okay, how do you feed and water that plant if if doesn't have dirt?? blessings and hugs ~ tanna

you either spritz it or let it 'swim' in a bucket of water a couple times a week!!

Congrats Steph! Your shawl turned out beautifully! I love your embroidery in progress! Where do you find the pattern (if there's any?)? I'd like to give a try to embroidery, but I don't really know where or how to begin. (I already have the hoops though :D

Most of the patterns/kits I've worked on have been either by Rebecca Ringquist or charlotte lyons; both are available on etsy. This one I got for my granddaughters....it should turn in to Christmas ornaments...but they weren't interested. The bags, though, are just doodles that drew and stitched using basic french knots and back stitch and outline stitches. Easy peasy. Give it a try!!!

Wow, that is a lot of gorgeous knitting in one project! It turned out beautiful. I want to knit one but by my calculations it will probably take me ten years. Hope that the basement situation is better and that things are drying out okay.

The shawl is beautiful! And I love the embroidery! Your stuff is always such an inspiration, I pulled out my embroidery books but I'm not even sure how to get started anymore.
Keep up the great work!

Oh I love your shawl...!! Was it very hard to block it since it is so big? that is one thing that is making me unsure about knitting this pattern....
