More color than you've seen on this blog in awhile!
I can't seem to put the embroidery away....I even bought a couple new colors to add to the box. Usually, I'm quite happy to just look at the colors in the box....but I've actually been stitching on the paisley sampler (a Dropcloth sampler design). If I knew what it was going to turn into when completed, I might have more incentive to finish. Right now I'm just enjoying the journey.
The orphan ball of sock yarn has been kicking around in the stash so long that the ball band totally faded. It's a Lorna's Lace sock weight---bought shortly after Lorna Miser started her company in the late 80s. It was beautiful. It was quite unique for its day. I had to have it. And it was on sale (reason there was only one!)
I came across this pattern...and one skein should make the pair. It was worth the 25-year wait.
A Perfect Red rounds out my 'colorful' week. The book blurb sums it up well: 'A delightful, rollicking history. A fun read, well supported by extensive research...'

So much colour, you'd almost think you got inspired by Spring! :)

That's the problem...I love to embroider, but don't know what to do with the finished pieces. (I have a mini-drawer full of FOs awaiting inspiration!) This might turn into a little project bag. ????

Your embroidery is beautiful! I've always wanted to try my hand at that but I already can't seem to find enough hours in the day to enjoy all of my hobbies.

gorgeous embroidery! I wish I could enjoy the journey more like you. I want stuff done sometimes more than just being in the moment. With knitting I can be in the moment.

I love the embroidery and I have to admit to experiencing thread box envy!

Your embroidery is beautiful. I have a ton of those threads that I inherited. I have to start using them.

I want to just stare at that lovely thread too. I used to do a lot of Cross-Stitch but it is hard on my eyes at night after staring at a computer screen all day. I do miss it though and keep toying with the idea of trying it again on the weekends. I bought my first skein of Lorna's 3 years ago and it is so pretty--I really need to think about using it. I have since purchased more-again something I love to look at but have not found the perfect pattern. Your little piece of embroidery would make a beautiful project bag!

Those colours are just scrumptious! I'd never heard of Dropcloth Samplers but I love what's going on over there. Looking at your project makes my fingers itch to do some hand stitching. But hey, I understand the grey obsession perfectly: nothing is more elegant.

Oh I love the colours and the pattern is amazing. You make me want to start embroidering too. It would make a perfect project back...good idea.
