Today was the day. I was going to really blast through the house and pile up all the unwanted 'stuff'....attic to scary basement. Hubby was gone for most of the day. I was going to make a huge !!!MeSs!!!!! but get it all sorted out before he got home.
I had a plan.
I started with a basket of fabric. You know, start easy---make a dent early on---see success----stay psyched.
And that's as far as I got.
At the bottom of the basket, I found a little piece of sashiko embroidery I had started in the early fall. I'll just stitch a little on it. (I'll call it a break, even though I just started 'the purge'.)
Maybe I'll download an audible book and stitch a little more. WOW. If I had known that stitching would go so fast, I would have finished it months ago!!
The book is getting pretty good. (Hennig Menkell...Faceless Killers)
I have time to turn it into something. (DUH. What else? The book was too good to stop and get out the sewing machine, so I stitched the bag by hand.)
I even lined it! (You know, the fabric in the basket that still hadn't been put away.)
One UFO that is now an FO.
One piece of fabric that didn't need to be put away.
One empty basket.
Rill has a new home.
Plan B was much more fun than Plan A.
I love your creativity! So much fun. You inspire me to do more!

So much better than cleaning out Steph, I love your bag. I was looking at
sashiko embroidery the other day and want to try my hand at it, is it hard?

Plan B is so much more rewarding than Plan A could ever have been! ;) Beautiful work and beautiful bag, and the added satisfaction of having one less WIP can't hurt either! ;)

I read about sashiko from soulemama last week and thought it sounded interesting. I may have to try it one day. I think your diversion was perfect.

This is so funny! This is how I start a lot of my "big" projects - and how I end up! At least this is a cute finished object bag, plus the "big" project will always be there next time. Happy day, k

Oooo... LOVE the sashiko embroidered bag!! The stitched pattern is beautiful! (I love embroidery, and have taken up a little again... years ago I used to do silk ribbon embroidery, and would like to revive a little of that too...) Fun to see the great variety of your creative work, Steph! :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

Beautiful! Sashiko is so addictive and fun. No wonder you couldn't put it down. Plus, there's always tomorrow for cleaning.

It seems only right that a Plan B involving yarn should become a Plan A!
Rill is looking good :D
