I started Hitofude last week, finished three repeats on chart one, and shifted my love to Funky Grandpa.
I know. I'm fickled with my sweater-love this season. Two sweaters on the needles already. This really is so unlike my usual sweater-knitting habit....of waiting until the first really cold day to cast on and then knitting like a madwoman, thinking that I'll be able to wear a new finished sweater the next day. (It's never happened. I remain an optimistic knitter, though.)
But, I still love Hitofude. If you haven't had a chance to take a peek at this sweater you really must. I. LOVE. IT!!! (I bet you will, too!) 7,939 other people have it queued or already on their needles!
Since I posted my start on it last week, Karen has cast on. We had a little side-bar chat, and decided some more of you might want to join us, encourage us me (Karen usually is so focused she doesn't need the group support I obviously need!), and simply share some fun knitting and end up with a great sweater. Is that a win-win-win-win, or what?
Neither of us want anything TOO structured....no start date (although how can you knit along if you don't start??)/no end date. My idea is maybe posting a progress picture once a week, either as a post of its own or stuck at the end of a post, and letting one of us know it's there. Karen might have some other ideas, too. (She's also far more organized than I am!)
So, here's my progress this week....one more repeat.
If you don't want to join in on our loosey-goosey knit-a-long, will you still be a cheerleader? I'm obviously going to need one.
Next update for me.....next Tuesday. (I think. Probably. Most likely.)
You are killing me!!! I really do want to cast on and I even have enough yarn in my stash that I could do it right now, but I am going to sleep on it and I'll let you know tomorrow. With school lesson's starting next week and the wedding to prepare for I just don't know if I should, but maybe? Yes, maybe.

I queued it after you posted on it a week or so ago. If you've going to do a loosey-goosey KAL I may have to purchase some yarn and join you!

Every stitch made, or better yet, pattern repeat, is progress! Now, I've got to check out Funky Grandpa, looks intriguing.
What a wonderful blog you have, I'm so sad I've only just found my way here! Wishing you a wonderful week.

I'm knitting the Darling Emma cardigan which is also lots of lace. Mind if I join in you KAL? I know I'll need lots of group inspiration to keep chugging away on all these tiny lace stitches. I'll just be the odd duckling who is making a completely different sweater.

HOORAY! YOU can do it, Steph! Is that good cheerleading?! ;o) I'm afraid I've given up sweater knitting for a time... smaller yarn projects these days. But I soooo admire anyone casting on a BIG projects. So you go, girl! ((BIG HUGS))

Oh gosh. You're killing me too. Baby blanket for October baby half done, cast on for a terra with some yummy close out yarn from webs, drop stitch scarf still lingering, socks in my purse.....
But I have that cone of heathered gray fingering in my stash for years now. Bought just in case I ever needed 2000 yards of fingering. Lol
Ok
Making my crochet chains now.
:)

You are a bad influence on me(in a good way!)...and of course I've now gonet ahead and bought the Hitofude pattern....and found a yarn shop that sells Madelinetosh yarn that I can visit this weekend....madness! Lets just say I'm loving sweater knitting so far and can't wait to try a lace pattern :)

This is NOT on my to-do list for this year, but yours looks so fabulous that I think I can't resist this. Will have to root around in my unwieldy yarn stash to see if I have anything that would work for this...

I love these. The colors and patterns are gorgeous. I started knitting a sweater on Thursday and I can't wait to finish it...although I'm only about 8 inches into it!

Wow- truly wow-it looks daunting and beautiful at the same time. Love the patterns...I will be eager to see yours and Karen progress- great fun!

Oh, yes, please, count me in! I won't be able to get the yarn until the weekend (it's a two hour drive to my yarn store) but I will get it and then begin. I'm still working on my Pi R Square shawl, and have to work approximately 16,000 stitches of lace border to finish just the lower edge, let alone the front bands and collar, but with your sterling example in mind (was that six projects in progress you showed us last week?), I don't have to feel that I must finish one before I start the other. Right? The problem will be choosing a colour of Madelinetosh: I have more grey cardis than anyone could need so won't be using your grey, lovely though it is. And what a sumptuous array of colours to choose from!
