:: my first play date was with the CandyMan at our annual BBQ on the River. He's part of his school's GreenTeam, and they got 'points' for helping RecycleNow (one of PapaGeek's "things"); so off we went. We had an early after school shift before all the 'good bbq trash' accumulated, so when we got tired of picking up cigarette butts (that was a lesson in and of itself!), we went to the riverfront for 'good trash'. (That translates as s-t-i-n-k-y stuff.) By the time we got there I had become his personal beast of burden, toting: his extra tee-shirt (it was in the upper 80s), the water bottle, the garbage bag, my own 'long-handle picker' and well as his when he went scampering, his 'deep fried' ice cream and PapaGeek's funnel cake...there are no photos--I couldn't juggle the camera, too, for which I'm quite sorry, because we were quite a site (add in our neon orange vests---you couldn't miss us!) I begged for 'double-points'. PapaGeek turned me down. He couldn't be bribed.:: I played in the garden...
until it became work. And the mosquitoes became ravenous. (No, you can't see the garden yet....all that came from one little section! It's still a work in progress.)::Then I played with the camera...mainly to convince myself that the garden was worth saving at all...grabbed the macro lens......tripped over this getting those tomato photos!....:: I played in the rain....::and...I played with some beads....Hope you found some playtime this weekend, too! Do tell!!!
Your pictures are beautiful, and so is your knitting

Love your macro shots.
I played at not falling off the top of the bank while digging the brambles out from the very edge of it. And won... mostly!

BEAUTIFUL photos, Steph! Playing in the rain... Long time since I've done that myself! LOVELY knitting--and with beads...*swoon*... I wasn't feeling too great at the weekend, so it was very slow-mo...with knitting & crochet, so it wasn't too bad. ;o) Happy Week ((HUGS))

And I'm sure you had lots of fun, but come on Steph, only the last two pictures are of proper play, litter picking and gardening, even with a camera to hand, sound like hard work to me ;)
Did you jump in the puddles when you were playing in the rain?

Love the pictures today Steph, just amazing. I love finding surprise gifts from the garden, they are the best.
It amazes me that people still throw their trash around when it is so easy to take care of it the right way. It's just sad you know?
Bead knitting? I want to learn to do that. I really think I need to move to KY so we can be neighbors.
Have a beautiful start to the week.

Lovely photos, you capture the beauty of your garden perfectly!! Love the bowl of beads, have you seen how to place beads with super dental floss? (dental floss for dental appliances) there's a youtube video and it's the way I place them. Thought you might like that way!

Gorgeous photos! That watermelon would be a welcome surprise here; our garden is closed for the season, well, other than the carrots that remain to be harvested. The rest is gathered in and the final batch of tomato sauce is on the stove. :)

GORGEOUS photos! It looks like lots of great play...except for the mosquitoes. Hate those things...she say while scratching the welt on her calf vigorously.
