The beach has something for everyone!
The boys 'collected' fish....
but their enthusiasm quickly outgrew minnows in a bucket, and moved on to...
nets, and...
volcanic fish ponds (they let the girls help keep the pond 'full'....but the relocation of the little critters was all boy work)
One collected shark teeth...
and found two on the beach (something I've never ever found!)...but the real thrill came
at 'shark talk' at the local coastal museum. After the talk, there was a shark tooth dig, and no one cared that the dig pit was pre-stocked with the treasures. Everyone found teeth!!! (even me!)
One grand specialized in cockle shells and arks....nothing else would do...
and her sister would only pick up BIG....(mostly oyster) shells...big pieces of stuff was every bit the treasure as the whole ones
PapaGeek....
collected beach trash every morning on our walks
and I stuck to picking up only sea glass.
But the real thing I collect at the beach.....is memories.
(sea glass is on kusha kusha; knit until the stainless steel ran out!)
I pick up sea glass too, but it's rare to find it for some reason. It's a shame that people litter such a beautiful place, glad that your hubbie is on the look out to keeping it clean-I'm sure his reward will be in heaven. Have a good weekend!!

Such wonderful memories Stephanie. I am so glad you all found sharks teeth. Mike and the boys love to hunt for them too.
I hope your trip home is safe and uneventful. Take care and have a great weekend.

I love walking the beach for shells. I have never been lucky enough to find a shark tooth or sea glass. Thanks for sharing your vacation!

I am so looking forward to some beach time later this year!! First, with the boys... then, with the girls... and, of course, their family. I'm proud of Papa Geek's collection. That's a good man. blessings ~ tanna
