It doesn't seem to matter how old I get....I still love getting new toys!! and when that new toy is a knitting toy.....YIPPEEE!!!
there was just the slightest little learning curve....
Want to see how to do this?????
make a slip knot, and tie to one of the grooves. (My nostepinne has two grooves, but I've decided I like using the top one.)
single wrap around the pin (from the back, under and over the pin) for about 1 1/2"
take the yarn in a 45 degree angle across the wraps, using the end wraps as a sort of "ledge" to catch your wrap.....and then twist the pin a bit---wrap, twist, wrap, twist (you are wrapping away from you---twisting towards you)
and bigger (yes, Freddy was 'helping')
Anyone need some yarn wound?
Very cool - looks like you've got the technique mastered!!

And your new toy is so beautiful you can leave it laying around....or a basket of balls of yarn with it would make a lovely table decoration! How fun!

Colour me green ... I have always wanted a nostepinne, even the name sounds so exotic! And it looks like you've quickly got the hang of it :)
Hope you and yours had a joyful, peaceful and restful Christmas Steph.
