Vitamin D is finished. I love it. I love everything about it (except the blurry picture I took). The yarn is drapey and smooshy (madelinetosh tosh sock, in colorway norway spruce), the style is just "me", the fit is fine (in spite of the fact that....I didn't exactly swatch!--although I did check the gauge several times!!), the color is beautiful, and I read a book while knitting it (Eli the Good by Silas House); it's one of those projects that I really hated to see come to an end--just like a good book. I guess that makes me most definitely a process knitter, but in this case I'm tickled with the product as well.
I don't know if anyone else has this trouble, but when I've finished a really really good project (or book), I often have a problem starting something else. I'll often "stutter-start" several things before finding just the right thing to work on. I hope this doesn't happen...I have too many things already started, and for one reason or another, they were put aside as just not quite "worthy" to continue on. Fortunately, sometimes when those "unworthys" get dug out of the black hole of WIPs, they actually look pretty good. And sometimes, they even get elevated to "what was I thinking? and why didn't I just finish this?" status.
Like this "ta-dah".
Two felted pumpkins. They only got a "ta-dah" because they were done--almost. Why in the world they got dumped when all I had to do was close the bottom hole and pull the shaping yarn around them to give them a bit of definition. Beats me. They were even already felted--and STUFFED! All I can think of is I must have finished them after Thanksgiving (the day all the turkey decorations come down and winter comes out.) Took me maybe 10 minutes to finish them, and about 5 minutes of that was finding the orange yarn again.
But, they're done.
TA-DAH!!!
Bee-yoo-tee-ful!!! I have that pattern favorited. I need to make it. It looks great and I love the drape :)
