Paravel hat is finished. What a quick, satisfying knit. It used leftovers from another project. It was an interesting pattern. It was done in time to enjoy it while there is still some cold weather hanging around.
and it fit. Slouchy, but not overly. Just the way I wanted it.
So why, then, (I ask you (!!!) because I haven't a clue).... when this UFO transformed itself so nicely into a FO did I not want to pick up something else in a near stage of 'DONE' and launch right in to it? Another instant (almost) gratification?
Nope. I spent hours searching my Pinterest knitting board and all my 26 pages of Ravelry favorites, lusting over this and this and this (oh, wait, I already knit this one!). Maybe this instead. I love the simplicity of this one. And I have drooled over this since I first saw it NINE (!!!) years ago. (Just in case you don't feel like clicking through all those links....they are all blankets. Big blankets. Maybe-you'll-finish-in-this-lifetime-but-maybe-you-won't blankets.
I finish one little hat, and I think it warrants the beginning of a gargantuan project. I'm entitled to that new project!!
OK. Yes. Sort of like this one.
I guess I'll knit a couple more crosses until I decide which 'new' blanket to start.

I think the 'commenting' problem might be fixed. Thanks to all of you who took the time to try to comment the past couple days...or even went the step further and emailed me about the problem. A quick little attempt on my part to switch to disqus (which I didn't like, probably because I couldn't figure it out) and a rebooting of the comments section may (or may not) have done the trick. I like to think I had something to do with the fix....but we all know my 'techie-genius' probably had nothing to do with it. Fingers crossed it stays fixed.
Crossing fingers is how I fix most things.
