I volunteered to test knit these socks. Aren't they cute? I'm a sucker for anything that has a leaf-like pattern. Yep. I'm all over this design. I couldn't wait to get started. Uh, oh. Toe-up. UH, OH! Magic loop. (I hate toe up. I HATE HATE magic loop.)
The last time I volunteered to test knit for Brandy, I ended up changing the weight of the yarn, AND the number of stitches cast on; I didn't exactly do my 'job'. I've got to do better this time.
I looked long and hard, finally found a pair of big-girl-panties, put them on, and pulled up Judy's Magic Cast On.
(In Brandy's pattern she offers the option of dps, so I decided one thing out of my comfort zone was enough....although I'm sure this cast on is MUCH easier with two needles than it was with four.)
A leaf! Life is good.
You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
And today, this old dog just got a bit older....
It's my birthday.

(learning a new skill was a great birthday gift...thanks, Brandy!)
