Two rather large projects are in the ta-done pile...Diamond baby blanket is awaiting the birth of its recipient (sometime in July) and Arctitexture is tucked away for the summer, awaiting the next freeze.
Time to move on to something small(er)...something that won't get polished off in an evening, but is still small enough to get toted around. Yay for textured socks.
Sunshine socks are a full size sock with lots of traveling stitches, a little lace, and a couple cables thrown in for good measure. Not as complicated as are many Cookie A designs, but enough to keep your interest.
And then, there is Springtastic, an ankle length sock with a little texture, a little lace, a couple cables (they sound the same, but they really aren't!). I like both. Springtastic is knit in a yarn that was specially dyed for a new shop in town; a lovely pink, with little splotches of brown---called Dogwood, appropriate for our dogwood festival in the spring, but maybe not so perfect for socks. At the moment (it's early in the game, so the final verdict is still out), the socks are appearing like I tromped through a mud puddle. Granted, I WILL tromp through a mud puddle at some point wearing them, so I'm getting a heads-up as to how they'll look after a couple wearings. (Not bad.) I bought the yarn with some brown...for a shawl. I changed my mind. I do that a lot.
A-N-D, if I just happen to have an attack of 'I need to knit grey'....that happens more than you would think...

I guess I've got my mojo back.
