I've finished the book....The Road by Cormac McCarthy...since I took the picture. Haunting. Dark. Terrorizing. Heartbreaking. A love story. It tears at your heart. I may never recover from it. No wonder it has received so many accolades since it was written in 2006. (The Pulitzer Prize, James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction, Believer Book Award, The National Book Critics Circle award, and shortlisted for the Best of James Tait Black Memorial Prize; Entertainment Weekly named it the best book of the past 25 years.)
Several times over the past few years I've started to download the audible version...mainly because the 'reader' was a high school classmate. I'm glad I didn't. I know I would have pictured Tom as the 'Dad' and that would have been too awful.
On the needles: Hitofude Cardigan by Hiroko Fukatsu; I'm using Kilimanjaro by Miss Babs (yes, all 1700+ yards are wound into that one giant ball!); it's yummy soft. I had a chance to try on a sample knit with it and it was lovely. I have miles to go on this one and I plan to enjoy the journey.
