Yesterday was grooming day. Freddie L-o-V-e-S!!!! going. Three hours of people messing with him---AND a ride in the car. No better day as far as he's concerned.
When I picked him up.....life wasn't so good this time. They said he was scratching at his eye. He wouldn't open it---even after they 'flushed' it. No charge today. But, we think he needs to see his doctor. Of course, with the 'no charge' ---I'm thinking the worst. Somebody flinched and some scissors ended up scraping his eye? We flew to the vet's---ready to wait for as long as it took to be squeezed in. They took him almost right away when I told them why we were there. (Now I'm SURE I'm going to have a sightless dog. Will my "blind" dog need a seeing-eye person with him all the time???--I do have an imagination that can run out of control quickly!) Lots of eyedrops. Lots of contrast. Lots of lights. He has a bad soap burn. No permanent damage. (phew!!!) In spite of the fact that he hasn't made even a whimper, the vet assured me this really really hurts. Poor little guy.
I spent all yesterday putting pain med drops and antibiotic drops in his eye every two hours. (He's no dummy----after the first two rounds, we had to play catch-me-if-you-can to get the meds on that eye.) I did a LOT of cuddling. He did a LOT of nuzzling. By morning, the eye is still dilated because of the meds, but it's open and he's obviously feeling on top of his game......once again....

Stephanie, what is the second picture? It looks like a prosthesis
on a dog's leg....

Poor Freddie. Looks like he is back to his old tricks though.

He just wants to play with something his mommy has been playing with. ;-)

Now Stephanie, you, I, and every knitter around knows that when you don't feel good picking up knitting needles [whether to knit or maybe to have a little chew] always makes you feel better.
Hope Freddy is much better with each passing hour.

Oh, NOOO! Poor Freddie! That must be some kind of POTENT soap to burn his little eyes like that! Yikes!! I think he might be taking a little revenge. ;) Glad he is doing better. blessings ~ tanna

Good lord! They need to be using the puppy equivalent of No-Tears on that poor little guy.
I hope you don't have to do drops for very long. I'm sure he'll recover and rebound quickly -- they're amazingly resilient little guys.
We got a new lovable foster pup on Tuesday! He's having a rough transition period though... Lots of separation anxiety when we leave the room/house...

Oh poor Freddie.
It sounds like he's on the mend, but I do hope he recovers fully soon.
Even if that does mean everything returns to the top shelf..

Oh, Freddie.... Knitting needles are not toys, dear boy. :-D

I am so sorry about dear Freddie. The picture broke my heart. But it was good to see him again any way. Post another when he is feeling frisky again.

Poor puppy :( My little guy is happy until we open the door to the groomer then he puts the brakes on. Feel better Freddie.

my stomach flopped when I read this just now :( I hope Freddy is going to be okay, I love him so!! I would not be happy with the groomer at all. I will say a prayer for him and hopefully he will be as good as new!!

Oh poor baby! Glad he's on the mend. Freddie looks just like my late cocker spaniel. They are the sweetest dogs. I lost mine to a back injury that crippled him about 8 years ago and I still miss him.

Now I was going to type a poor Freddy, but clearly the need is past if he's eating knitting!

Poor baby! And after that you can't really fault him for having a little nibble.
