Beaverslide Dry Goods: 2 ply-merino/mohair; color--woodsmoke heather
Grown on a family owned and run ranch in Montana, this merino wool/kid mohair yarn is eco-friendly, processed in Canada, and spun on an antique spinning mule. What's not to love?
The beads have been in the 'stash' for years; I'm hoping there are enough....gunmetal grey shouldn't be too hard to match, though, should it? I'm using the mini-crochet hook method of applying the beads to this knit-as-you-go cabled border--a nice contrast to the garter body of the shawl. It's not a hard pattern, but not one where I can knit and read.....so I've been listening to audiobooks. (Is this cheating for yarnalong? Hope not. I sort of do it a lot.)
I have loved loved loved both recently finished books....Sweet Tooth (Ian McEwan) is a cold war spy/espionage love story with a lovely twist I totally didn't see coming at the end.
The Art Forger (B. A. Shapiro) is about an artist/art reproductionist who finds herself accused of forging a stolen piece from the famous Boston Gardner Museum heist of 1990.
I just started the Chaperone but haven't really listened to much of it----since I discovered that you can watch Downton Abbey (season 3) online until March 3rd! I heard there is an amazing knit baby blanket.....haven't made it to that episode yet!!!
Joining Ginny for Yarnalong and Tami for WIP Wednesday. Lots of inspiration there!

That yarn looks so soft and cozy. Off to check out the pattern.

That shawl will be stunning with the beads. I have yet to do bead-work. Perhaps later this year. And thanks for the book recommendations. Both are now on hold

Oh that baby blanket! It is stunning. I love those beads on your scarf. I haven't tackled that type of project. I've been a bit intimidated by it. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

Now I *really* want to read Sweet Tooth! And do you know - I've always wanted to know how to work beads into a knitted project and I never remember to google it. You cleared it up for me - mini crochet hooks...of course! :)

So pretty! Love the beadwork. Great WIP photo, too. You really managed to capture the wonderful textures of the shawl.
