I feel rather blessed to be knitting for babies this spring. Nothing better. I've mentioned before--there are twin boys in the mix and I try to do blankets for first-born in the family of friends. This, of course, means two. Two blankets. (sigh) Finish one and turn right around and do the same thing again (switching up the colors a bit). Couldn't wrap my head around this--because I don't like to knit the same thing twice. With all the wonderful patterns available at just a click away these days....who would? I better start early to get these done.
.
I've wanted to do this little blanket that I saw in the holiday IK. Ordered the yarn. (By the way, my mojo was apparently hiding at Webs, and was returned in the mail with my yarn.) And I've been quite happily mitering away when it dawned on me---this is exactly what I've been doing with the sock yarn blanket.....
.
for the 3rd time !!!
.
And what about that Citron that is on the needles? That will be the 3rd citron I've made. Socks? All those wonderful, fun sock patterns available, and at least every other pair I make---are the plain old vanilla pattern in my head.
.
And let's not even go there with holiday knits..... 5 garter stripe cowls??!!! And Fetching!!! I've lost count. (I do think that's my favorite fingerless mitt pattern, though!!!)
.
All of a sudden, I feel I'm in a total knitting rut!!!
.
Maybe I better go cast on something I've never made before.
.
What about you??? Do you have old favorites? or a favorite technique?? or are you among the adventuresome.....and really never repeat a pattern?

Since I'm still relatively new to knitting, I don't have that problem. I'm sure, given time, I will find a favorite...doesn't that sound better than a rut?

Oh, I have been missing my knitting mojo too. I tried to find it in my yarn bins this weekend and may have slightly succeeded.
As far as favorites. I don't know that I have a favorite pattern that I turn to over and over, but I tend to turn towards baby items even though I have no babies. Also toys and dishcloths get me through some tough times.
I just cast on a new project hoping to rekindle the flames so to speak.
I love your baby blanket. I don't know that I would want to do two in a row though.

Well those mitered squares are just so cool, the way you knit on two needles and get that shape. I say you need some cables in your life soon. Just for excitement. Glad you got your mojo back! I knew you'd find it in some new yarn!

my knitting has changed over the years, i like a little challenge (not too much) these days. i used to repeat patterns because of the children, but not really anymore. :)

Oh, yes, I do the same patterns often, but I always blame it on my limited knitting skills.
