Sneaking in a couple more FOs in 2012.....
Thanks to a new Rav friend who sent her leftover Drop Dead Sexy Socks that Rock ... PapaGeek's socks are finished. He's in good shape in the handknit sock-department, so I'm stashing these....and calling them my first finished Christmas gift for 2013. What are my chances of remembering where I put them in 358 days?
Next off the needles....about 125 miles of stockinette stitch.
It's not blocked, so the verdict is still out on this one. Alga by Veera Valimaki is a simple a-line sweater that I took to a more tunic length. I eliminated the pleated front and lengthened the sleeves just a bit, although they are still 3/4 length. I like the fit. I like the simple style. I like the weight. Knit in MadelineTosh merino light---what's not to like??? well, the color for one thing....and the fact that... while I had three skeins of 'Ms Taylor'....they all apparently were slightly different, and different enough to make the sleeves really stand out; I'm not real crazy about the stripey effect on the front, either. (actually, there is stripey stuff going on in the back as well, and that probably looks even worse, but I can't see it when I have it on) I'm hoping that I've just been too close to this project for too long. Maybe after it's blocked and put in time-out for awhile it will look better.
Or, maybe I'll just have a glass (or two) of champagne. Toast the new year. What stripey, funny colored sleeves?
HAPPY 2013!!!!

Put the socks in with your ornaments for next year....but then if you are like me you will get a "better" idea of where to put them, put them there and not see them for three years.

I'm forever putting something where I won't loose it and then I can't find it...it's payback for all the times that I laughed at my mother when she did it.
