:: Gordon Lightfoot in concert. Yes, he's 74 years old. But Sundown, Rainy Day People, If you could read my mind, Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and my favorite...Beautiful---they all still sounded great! Fun evening.
:: a trip to Cedarhurst in Mt. Vernon. A friend and I went to see a little quilt exhibit (which was OK) but really enjoyed the permanent collection. One little room--
Others from the Ashcan school. 4 or 5 Thomas Eakins. I just love spending time there.
It was a beautiful day----the floating sculptures were out on the lake...
:: lunch at a little grill in town. My wrap must have had two pounds of fresh mozzarella on it; as they say, timing is everything---and we timed lunch just when the fresh homemade bread was being taken out of the oven. Brought a couple loaves home.
:: Neighborhood co-op grocery. Found this little gem and got some stuff for tortellini soup. Next door was an international grocery. A whole aisle dedicated to soy sauce!! Another entire aisle full of every kind of ramen noodles known to mankind. 50 pound bags of arborio rice! (I was able to contain myself.)
:: corn chowder soup (did I overdo the soup-thing this weekend?). A friend had shoulder surgery; she got a pot of soup and a loaf of homemade bread (from my oven, not from the grill....that was long gone!)
:: the annual barbeque festival.
everything imaginable on a stick....
but this is the real reason to go.
:: and then there was dinner club. There really was a whole lot of eating this weekend. (all really really good!)
Last but not least---
:: pulled out the suitcase....again. Stay tuned.
