The Secrets of Mary Bowser is my book this week, the story of a free slave who spys for the Union during the Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression as it's referred to in my neck of the woods). Just started it, but it's caught me already.
I finished the kusha-kusha scarf, an extremely easy knit, but one I know I'll wear A LOT; half is stockinette stitch holding a cobweb wt merino with stainless steel--the other halfcontinues in stockinette with just the stainless steel. It's drapey, yet the stainless allows you to crinkle and shape it a bit. It's long, it's light--it's pretty perfect and was a wonderful vacation mindless knit.
Beach Affection will be done tomorrow. How can I be so darn sure about that? I'm a captive audience once again on a 10 hour car trip. I'm absolutely, positively, 100% sure I can knit 2" in 10 hours. (Pretty sure I can knit it in 5 hours if I have to take a turn driving!!!!)

Yarn with stainless steel? Can you tell me more about this, now I am curious? The scarf looks great, but then that's the only way you knit! :)
I am worn out just reading about all your adventures. Stay safe tomorrow!

I am intrigued by your use of the stainless steel. It isn't itchy?? Still love those beachy colors. Just need to wind my yarn and knit a few other projects and a color affection will be mine.

Ah, the War of Northern Aggression! I'm a Georgia girl currently living in Detroit (*sigh*) and these people up here, my husband's family included, just don't understand Southerners.

oh fun! love road trip knitting, you are such a fast knitter steph i am sure you'll be done in no time. love the kusha kusha, yours is beautiful. i made it years ago too, but opted out of the stainless and used habu linen and cotton. it's a bit floppy, but still a pretty lightweight scarf.
love habu.
