about five houses down the beach from ours, I found this...it was 6 am; I should have gotten out a few hours earlier....momma turtle was gone.
she didn't choose the best place for her eggs, so the turtle patrol had to move them. I really wanted to help in the worst way, but there were things to do....
We tormented a little sand crab for awhile. He was NOT happy with us. Even when we let him go he did a sneak attack before he scampered off.
There were pelicans to photograph. (I have about 600 more that look just like this one.)
I was called in for a little architectural consult.
A beach ball game. Adults vs. kids. Guess who won?
A walk on the beach. I found this perfect little shell. I flipped it over.

Cute message in a beautiful shell. Have a lovely vacation, Steph!

Only 600? Mmm. I did not see pelicans when we were at the beach. I think you are at a far better beach :) Love the crab and I'm glad that you found that shell! True words :)

That shell, did it wash up, or was it left there on the off chance someone found it ... the romantic in me just knows it was the latter!
Lazy beach days, what could be better!

Looks like a great time! Did you take the sewing machine?

Some of these shots remind me of our family reunion vacation near Cape May and Cape Cod- it was off-season and we had practically the whole beach to ourselves!
