Java sock is growing (it's #2) and the ethereal triangular shawl is on its last lace pattern, but basically this picture doesn't look too terribly different than last week's photo, with the exception of the new friend. Mama4earth (Linda Dawkins)'s elephant has joined the herd. Hers is much cuter than mine....hers stands up, and mine was just "born" sitting. Go figure. I'll try again. He gets along with the rest of the herd, and that's all that matters, right?
Books. I'm LOVING Sheepish. It's a laugh out loud kind of book. (Well, I'm laughing out loud. I read a couple parts to PapaGeek and he didn't quite get it. He doesn't knit, though.) I'll be real sorry to see this quick read come to an end.
Queued up....Love Life by Bobbie Ann Mason. Back of the book: " Love Life is about the one experience everyone has in common. Bobbie Ann Mason writes about love with stunning insight and variety: romantic, marital, parental, and family love; the banked desires of old age as well as the green passions of youth and the ambiguous yearnings of midlife."
Bobbie Ann Mason is a well respected western Kentucky author, and I wanted to reread this (autographed copy!!!!) before it found its way into my virtual vacation box. I love her writing; I've read (I think) everything she has written and own most of it. I know I shouldn't be telling anything that's going in my box (I'm such a spoiler!) but there will be much much more so this really won't wreck anything, I'm sure. Tracey (from the blog, Clover), is hosting a virtual vacation and there is still plenty of time to sign up! The idea (in a nutshell)---you pull together fun, interesting things from your part of the world (this is open to international "travel"!) and you swap "travel boxes" with a partner---determined by some randomness magic Tracey is creating. Sounds like a great deal of fun....sort of mystery traveling until Tracey reveals where your box is headed. My travel pile is growing. I have until June 1st to "pack".
