I'm almost done with Sunflowers and really have enjoyed it. It tells the story of the last few years of Vincent Van Gogh's life--the tormented Arles years--through the eyes of his "love", Rachel, a prostitute. Such a bittersweet story; I know it's not going to end well, but I keep hoping. Queued up is Sheepish, by Catherine Friend. I've had this on my to-read list for quite awhile--subtitle: Two women, fifty sheep and enough wool to save the planet. What's not to like about that???
On the needles....shawl, shawl, and shawl...three bowls full. My friend's Alice Starmore purple wrap (that is just about where it was when I last showed it....the kit obviously was for the generous scarf....and not the shawl, so it's been ripped back and reknit), the crescent moon shawl (Noro), and the orange ethereal shawl have all been slightly on hold while I knit a few elephants that I blogged about yesterday. But, I'm back on track....there are a couple birthdays looming; I need to be focused!
BUT, I had to add one new buddy to the herd. He is actually almost twice the size of the others, yet took less time to knit. The finishing on this one isn't quite so fiddly.
They seem to be friends already.
